AmeriCorps Member, Meng Zhan, Joins SRI Team!
Meng to Serve 1 Year as Community Events and Engagement Coordinator
Sunbury's Revitalization Inc. (SRI) is proud to welcome Meng Zhan to its team. Meng is serving as a CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps member and will spend the next year (through August 2026) supporting SRI as its Community Events and Engagement Coordinator. In this role, she will assist in advancing community engagement, data-informed planning, and local economic revitalization efforts.
Meng brings a strong background in research, data analysis, and community development. At SRI, she is focusing on understanding local event trends, evaluating community participation, and identifying opportunities to strengthen Sunbury’s social and business vitality. Her work supports SRI’s mission to foster economic growth, enhance quality of life, and promote downtown Sunbury as a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.
“We’re thrilled to have Meng on board,” said Jody Ocker, Executive Director of Sunbury's Revitalization Inc. “Her analytical insight and commitment to community improvement are helping us better understand how to engage residents and attract new energy to Sunbury.”
Meng’s recent projects include analyzing the frequency and target audiences of local events to help SRI align programming with community interests. She is also collaborating with local partners to encourage youth and new residents to get more involved in revitalization activities.
