SRI Welcomes Sarah Bower as new Downtown Manager
Sunbury Revitalization, Inc (SRI) is excited to announce the addition of Sarah Bower to the team as Downtown Manager. A creative and driven young professional, she hopes to bring new energy and ideas to Sunbury’s revitalization efforts.
A recent graduate of Susquehanna University, Sarah earned her degree in Management and Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. During her time at Susquehanna, she served as the Student Government Association President and was a track and field athlete for the River Hawks.
Born and raised in Bloomsburg, Sarah is a proud member of the Bloomsburg Rotary Club and brings experience from past internships within the nonprofit sector. At DRIVE, a local economic development organization based in Danville, she worked alongside an innovative team focused on strengthening the communities around them. She also gained international experience at Ashden Climate Solutions, a charity in London, UK where she worked on campaigns working to raise awareness surrounding global issues.
The Downtown Manager plays a key role in connecting businesses, community members, and the local government. Her goal is working together to reimagine Sunbury as a thriving place to live, work, and visit. With a deep respect for Sunbury’s history, she is excited to bring a fresh perspective to the city’s historic downtown area.
“Sadly no city can truly return to its ‘good old days’ no matter how much we wish it could,” Sarah says, “Instead, my goal is to shine a light on the history that once made Sunbury a destination and work with the community to make it even better”
As she settles into her new role, Sarah is committed to being accessible and approachable. SRI is hosting a meet and greet with the new manager on Wednesday, November 5th 5-7pm at Midtown Bistro, drinks and snacks will be provided! Moving forward, she will also hold regular office hours at the SRI office located in the Albright Center Mondays 2-7, and Wednesdays 9-2 to meet with business owners, residents, and community members who want to share ideas, concerns, or collaborate on projects.
