Celebrating AmeriCorps Week: Spotlight on Meng Zhan at SRI
Happy AmeriCorps Week! Sunbury’s Revitalization Inc. (SRI) is proud to celebrate Meng Zhan, who is serving as a CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps Member and joining us for a one-year term as our Community Events and Engagement Coordinator.
Since joining SRI, Meng has brought her expertise in research, data analysis, and community development to help strengthen Sunbury’s downtown. She has been instrumental in analyzing local event trends, evaluating community participation, and identifying opportunities to bring more people into our revitalization efforts.
Meng has already made a big impact. She helped organize our Late Night Shoppers event, going door-to-door to register 40 local businesses. She also developed two new programs to fill gaps in our community engagement: Mom’s Coffee Break, designed for young families, and Winter Movie Matinees, focused on seniors.
“Meng’s optimism, dedication, and energy make a real difference every day. We are so grateful to have her serving us ,” says Sarah Bower, Downtown Manager of SRI.
“We’re thrilled to have Meng on board,” adds Jody Ocker, Executive Director of SRI. “Her insight, creativity, and commitment to community improvement are helping us engage residents and bring new energy to Sunbury.”
This AmeriCorps Week, we celebrate Meng and all AmeriCorps members who dedicate their time and talents to improving communities. Thank you, Meng, for your hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm, we are proud to have you helping Sunbury grow!
